What fish is on the cover of the Tunze catalog?

It's a freshwater fish. I believe a flameback haplochromis, a lake victoria endemic.

Definitely not something that would do well in a reef tank. The salt would kill it.

true its a hap. very nice and aggresive fresh water fish, easy to maintain once obtained. very easy to breed in the home aquarium.

Yup, victorian haps are extremely beautiful, unfortunately they are virtually extinct in the wild and the taxonomy is not very clear, that one is generally called Haplochromis sp. "Flameback" I don't think more than a couple thousand years of evolution seperates any of the "species" so it is very vague as to which ones are which.
