Eating small fish is part of it too. There are threads here about niger triggers eating clowns, chromis, gobies, and blennies.
They also get huge, are messy eaters, and can sometimes go rogue once they hit a certain size.
There are worse choices for a trigger in a reef, of course. And nigers are probably safe with coral. Although I wouldn't be surprised if it decided to take a bite out of an expensive acro just for the fun of it.
You guys are experienced/knowledgeable enough to make the choice about fish for your tanks, but I would never recommend for a newbie to try a niger trigger in a reef.
