What fish to add?

What about Starki Damsel or Springeri damsel or some other type mellow damsel

I already have a Starcki male in there and will add a female or two as soon as I can find them. But those are more oriented towards the lower zone of the tank.

Yes I wouldn't get a wrasse for your tank, before I added my hoeven's wrasse I had a LOT of amphipods and now that he is in the tank I have no baby amphipods but I still have adults.
This is a 4 tank system of which one is a refugium (currently 10 gallons but will be upgraded to 20 or 30 gallon). So I doubt any fish in one tank could deplete the pod population beyond recovery.

If you are going to get Cirrhilabrus, I would suggest getting 1 of 3 different species instead of 3 of 1 species. Fairy wrasses just tend to become males eventually regardless of how many we keep, IME. Unlike anthias, they have a stranger social structure that isn't completely understood yet. If you get 3 C. Bathyphilus, after about 2-3 months you should have 1 male and 2 females, but a harem most likely won't work long term... they will all become male :(

A C. Bathyphilus, C. Lineatus, and a C. Luteovittatus would look amazing though IMO. If you get all females, they should change within 1-4 months :D amazing fish for sure.

**On a side note, I would be careful with Ventralis Anthias. Admittedly, I haven't ever kept them myself, but I have heard they are very sensitive and don't adapt well.

Well, that takes the wrasses off the list.

I may also skip the ventralis.

So I guess the primary selection will be between a group of
1. Pseudanthias ignites - seems prettier and stays smaller, so they may be the better fit for my tank size.
or
2. Nemanthias carberryi - slightly larger but a shallow water species which makes them ideal for a bright SPS system.

Since the regals are far less skittish when the light is at 100% and the spectrum closer to white but stay in the rocks when the light is dimmer and more in the blue spectrum, I need a fish to draw them out during the dimmer morning and evening periods.

Pretty much everything speaks for the ignites.

Thoughts?

Halichoeres Melanurus is of the family Halichoeres. This family of wrasses are known for consuming pods and are not fairy or flasher wrasses.

ThRoewer,

Regarding Anthias, I would talk to SDGuy, he seems to be quite knowledgable regarding the subject. I believe it was him quite a while back who posted that N. Carberryi looses its color over time without a specialized diet. Another person posted some pictures in that thread showing Carberryi Anthias when he got the harem and some months after. It was incredible; they started out pink, purple, and yellow but became faded pink and white. Just something to consider, who knows, this might solidify your idea to keep Ignitus Anthias, lol.

FWIW, I'll be keeping 4-6 Ignitus Anthias in my 120 when it comes around :D

Those flavo are awesome looking and zoacollector head them for 275 for the harem
