What fish to get

Hey guys I'm setting up a 125 gallon tank that's 6 foot long and was wondering what reef safe fish I should get. I was looking into tangs too and was wondering which ones will be best to get in this tank since there is a lot of swimming space. Also how many fish can I get.
Thanks

The less fish the better due to less bio load. Start off with other fishes besides tangs because they will be territorial and bully other fish and if you decide to get multiple tang introduce them at the same time. I have blue hippo tang, powder blue, two yellows in a 180g. I would do 1 fish slowly at a time since your tank is new. Also tangs are notorious for ick. Best to have a quarantine your fish for a month and monitor for disease and that it feeds. I really like the Achilles tang, powder browns, blues, they are all cool

I have a 60 gallon tank setup right now with 2 clowns, 2 chromis, an engineer goby, a diamond goby, a pj cardinal, and a mandarin goby. But I'm only keeping the clowns and pj cardinal and chromis

I thought Achilles needed a 180 minimum. Anyway one of the more reef safe angels would be nice, I personally like goby shrimp pairs. If you do tangs they need to be added last and if you want more than one try to add them together. Fairy wrasses are always nice to have as well watch out for wrasses in the same genus as six lines and mystery wrasses. Those are just some of my suggestions and good luck with the tank!

The only tangs that are suitable long term are bristle tooth varietys or mimic tangs, some people keep yellow tangs successfully in a 125g. Acanthurus tangs aren't suitable for a 125g, especially not a Achilles

Thanks, also what angels are reef safe because those are the nicest fish.

you best bet with angels would be the Genicanthus as they are the least likely to nip corals out of the angelfish family.

+1 the swallowtail and masked are the only two I haven't heard of a one off type angel that will nip at coral. My Bellus female is still small (2.5") but doesn't bother anything.

I am all for best environment for fish but I think that saying a six foot tank is ONLY suitable for bristletooth tangs long term is somewhat extreme. Not saying you are wrong but I would personally not go that far in my recommendation. I think a purple tang would do really well and make the OPs tank look nice.

That's the one I forgot about, a purple tang, I'm definitely getting it.
Thanks you guys for all the responses, still need more.

What I'm saying is a full grown purple tang or any other Zebrasoma tang will be extremely aggressive in a 125g, and for the life of the fish a 180g is much better suited. You were assuming I meant not suitable because of the length, I meant because of the of over all aggression and gallons. To each their own in this hobby, I don't agree with what a lot of people do/say on here. I have been doing this for 17yrs now and one thing that's for sure is your mistakes are costly
