ok... I set up my 220 a couple weeks ago, and put new water in 3 weeks ago. Exactly 1 week ago I added 100lbs of very mature, cured live rock, and 200lbs of live sand..The rock came from a 8 year old system that was owned by a LFS owner, and in his home tank. The rock is covered in coraline.

Anyways, I had the water tested the day after i put the rock in to see what was going on...

these were the results

I over shot my sg and didnt know what was up with the Calcium being 250...

So over the next couple of days, i added calcium, however i didnt add much at all. 12 teaspoons over 3 days. Which should have only risen my calcium by about 12 or so.

Today i went to 2 different LFS and had my water tested again, to see if anything changed.

Im begining to wonder if i will ever get a cycle due to the rock and sand.. What do you guys think?

You proably wont see a cycle being that the rock you put in your tank was mature and you had little die off in the transport. I was the same way never had a cycle either. wait a week or so and press on with a CUC

You won't get a cycle if the rock that you put in your tank was cycled and it wasn't out of the water long when you put it in your tank. No die off= No cycle.
