what glue to use with LEXAN ..and can it be glued?

hey everyone,

I have a lot of big pieces of lexan and want to make a sump out of them...can it be done and what glue do I use....Weld on 3 ???
or weld on 55 ??

I would use a product by CRAFTICS # 33
It will bond together and hold 10 times stronger than the corner will .
You need to prep the lexan with very fine polished edges or flame
 
EJ ... i was in your same shoes and ended up scrapping the idea... I've heard from a bunch of people that it will not make a true bond that can be trusted
 
Not to mention, flame polishing is difficult for the experienced let alone the novice from what I've read.

Personally, I would recommend going for some quality acrylic (cast preferred). That might not be bad for temporary QT tanks and such. The last thing you want is one of your critical tanks like a sump breaking and/or leaking on you.
