What happened MarineDepot???

I just placed an order for about 10 items, a bunch of random junk that I've been meaning to buy but haven't had time to. And to my amazement it is already shipped out and should be here tomorrow. Thanks for the speedy service! MD has stood the test of time. I am sure they are doing everything they can to rectify any problems the other people have had. Please at least give them a look.

I placed an order for two Eheim Compact pumps about 3 weeks ago. I chose 2 or 3 day delivery, I got the email confirming the order, and one day before I was supposed to receive them I had to call them because I never got an email with the tracking number.

They just said: "hold on for one second, I don't find your order on the system......... , ok, got it, it's in backorder..........

I told them why did not you inform me about it? and they just said: Didn't we inform you about it? I'm sorry, anyway you may cancel your order if you want.....

Not too many options.......

This was my first time I was buying from them and it will surely be the last one.
 
I am also one of the many satisfied customers (no relation to anyone, never worked there, etc.), just browsing through threads and thought I would put in my .02:

I was very pleased with my order. I had one item on backorder that I was emailed about, it was shipped out with upgraded shipping, just like the rest of my order. I had also forgot (despite the reminders on the page) to order the vacuum lift pumps to go with my CPR overflows, and emailed them right away (11 pm ish). The next morning, my stuff had already gone out, but they created a new order to send me the vaccum pumps, same upgraded shipping, no new shipping charge.

Also, throughout the process I emailed and called with several questions and always received timely response.

I have been extremely impressed with Marine Depot, so I felt compelled to comment. They have definately earned my repeat business.
 
I gave them a second chance, I reminded them what happened in the past and they offered me 50% off ( Next Day Delivery shipping costs). I got a Tunze Turbelle pump plus the magnet yesterday. I tried them, the pump was just too much for my tank, I gave them a call to get a RMA and they told me that unless the Tunze representative tells me the pump was defective, they would not take it back.......
Today I decided to sell both items in the forum, luckily while I was hassling the price with two potential buyers, I received a phone call from Marine Depot, they changed their mind and will take everything back. This is what I call good customer service. I will definately do bussiness with them in the future.
