What happened to Calfo, Borneman, and Shimek?

I just noticed they no longer reside on their forums. Anyone have a link to the thread that precipitated all this?

This announcement appears in their former forums:
"Recently you may have witnessed a couple heated discussions between several members of our community. As the dust settled, several of those members chose to suspend their invovlement in our community. Although it's not appropriate for Reef Central to comment on their issues or motivations, it is important to make it clear that no one was asked to leave or forcibly removed and that we regret when any contributing member leaves the site.

What we can say is that RC is working toward continuing the excellence that made Reef Central the number one reef keeping bulletin board in the world. We will be experimenting with different formats to replace the attention of the experts who decided to leave. The forums will remain in place (so the information is still available), but have been renamed, and other changes will occur as we make decisions about the best direction for the future..."

I think we all want this behind us. That discussion got very heated, and we lost many people here on RC . It was unfortunate, but we all gotta learn to keep on reefin'. They are gone and no one person really knows for sure, but I agree, it isn't our business.

Well I would have to disagree with that point of view. I for one would like someone to step up and explain the situation. It is better to have everything out in the open than shrouded by fog, but it is clear that the power that be disagree =)

I think it was a BB vs. DSB debate about a month ago that some childish accusations were made----but i'm sure there is more to it.

I don't care to reopen old wounds in the least bit, but if the discussion was enough illicit such a reaction from three of the big wigs in the hobby, there must be some pretty insightful discussion in there. I was just hoping to learn something from it?

Can someone just tell me where to find it!

I see it like they were very valuable to RC but there are many others here that give outstanding advise. The way I see it, it doesn't concern me, so I don't bother asking.
