What happened to my clam??

I am trying to figure out what happend to my clam- seemed fine yesterday. THis am the shell is seperated and there is a huge hole. Im sure it is lost now but just wanted to know if it has been slowly dying or if something got it

Not sure.......can you give us some more information, such as water parameters all you can test for. the place ment of the clam in the tank...inrelation to the lights and flow....what kelvin temp do you use...how old are the bulbs? How long have you had the clam? And what size was the clam? And have you noticed any fish nipping at it in the past, and do you have any butterflys and or angels?

I've had him for about 8 months, water params are all normal, 175MH, 14K, bulbs are 2 months old. It is in the top of the tank nothing in close proximity, no angels etc, nothing seems to get near it. I did discover after my post today an urchin (hitchhiker) on the back of my scroll coral I got it out but wondering if it poked it (the clam) or something

Can you please list your water parameters, how long since they've been tested, and what brand of kits?

Have you checked for Pyramid snails?

Have you recently started adding anything new such as buffers or change brand of salt or something?
