what happened to my rbta

i woke up this morning to find a small piece of my rbta on the sand bed all shriveled up . i automatically freaked out and i screamed what happened to my anemone. my bf took it out of the tank to look at it closely. and he said the anemone looked like it has been split in the middle. the stomach was showing on it's foot and half the tentacles were missing. so my automatic thought was either is split into 2 or it got caught by the pump. but for the life of me i can't find the other anemone. right now the tiny anemone i found on the sand is in my refugium. hoping it attaches to a piece of rock that's in there. my question is what could have happened? if it split how come im not finding the other anemone?

Check your overflow pipe as he might have went for a ride and got stuck, happens all the time on here. Otherwise only other place is in the rock work which you have to pull it all to find it

i have checked my overflows, i think he is hiding some where in my rock work it sucks i wanna see if it is ok.
