What Happened??

i support RC but this is a little stiff, especially for our new members...i guess this promotes posting..hey charlie how is your tank doing? :)

i wouldnt call it stiff....but more of a place for sharing info....not for just joining up just to sell.....

my tank?.....its an experiment in the works.....

I didn't see anything wrong with his thread. He even posted the prices which I don't see as a rule from the link Charlie <Vcoo71> posted

I dont know the specifics on the mycomas site's future plans, but I really hope there are plans for a forum, this is not the first time for this. A while back, a local thread by a very well known member got closed bc there was no price, someone from the coast got mad bc he wouldn't ship and complained bc his price wasnt posted. Im sure I'll get in trouble for posting this..

The post was not mine I was just interested in a few of the items he had for sale. I didn't notice how many posts he had I rarely pay attention to that part of any of the posts. But if that is the rules then they must be followed by all.

I was hoping the same thing. I really wanted a few things that he had.. too bad that there is not a rule for special cases like his. From what I got from the post he was being transfered and could not take the livestock with him. hope in the future we can help out a fellow reefer in a dire time of need and overlook the 50 post rule if special circumstances warrant liquidating their livestock or equipment. I am not trying to buck any rules just thought this might be something to think about in the future.

That's a good idea somewhere that reefers that are new to comas can sell or trade until they have their 50 posts.

I was the original person who posted the thread. I am sorry for causing the misfortune to the members who were interested. I realized that it was against the rules to sell with so few posts. I was hoping that the rule was not enforced unless it was abused. The last thing I wanted to do was offend anyone in the club. But as I have read and the rule has been enforced against me, I will not sell to anyone in the club to honor the rules of and requests of the admin in here.

It is true that I had minimal posts on here, but I have also been a club member for almost a year. (So I am not joining the forum to sell things). I have paid my dues and it seems fitting to get all the privileges that come with being a club member. I just don't jam up the forum with as much chatter as others may.

As suggested above, I will not post my sales in another forum. Nor will those who wished to buy from me be honored (Serra, Capt Bunzo, CB, and Travis L. Stevens), this will be done to please the admin of their requests. If you feel there is an injustice, you may take it up with the person who removed my post and perhaps change the rules.

It seems that fifty posts to sell things in a forum on here does nothing. I thought about putting in fifty posts in other forums to fullfill the requirements by the admin. However, this would only make other members who are undeserving of it mad. Like I said, I don't wish to be mean to COMAS. It is a great forum for OKC aquarium information. However, not allowing other members to buy things cheaper from other amateurs is a tremendous disservice from COMAS admin.

As a recommendation, why not make it a requirement that the person is a member for over six months and is allowed to sell a maximum of six times a year. Also refuse all companies or stores from selling or buying on here to remind them that it is only for amateurs within a 50 mile radius of OKC.

I have to pack my things and move to the Pacific, I have people who want to buy the whole aquarium as friends who are not members of COMAS (nor will I recommend that they join and sell extra things on here as well). I don't have time to play catch up with everyone who is trying to contact me, nor do I want to waste all weekend waiting while they come over or not come over. I was going to do this as a favor to fellow aquarium lovers, but at this point I'm so upset off that I refuse. I will either sell my stuff to my friend all at once or take it to an aquarium store all at once. I was offering things as a kindness, not to raise money. My membership expires at the end of the year, which would allow me to post for a few more months from the Great Barrier Reef in the Pacific ocean. Please remove my membership from COMAS immediately! I am done with COMAS.

Please accept my apology. I have been posting on here for over three years and still do not know all of the rules and as I stated early in this post I believe there should be exceptions to every rule including this one for people who need to get rid of livestock and equipment and have a small time frame to do it. Some of the best things in my tank I have purchased form people who could no longer care for them.. I am sorry that this has turned you from Reef Central. Good lLuck in the Pacific and have a safe trip.

Please be advised that COMAS does not make nor enforce the rules on Reefcentral. Based on your post, it sounds like you are placing the blame on COMAS, which in fact the admins of Reefcentral enforce these rules. Reefcentral is nothing more than a medium for COMAS members to communicate. Unfortunately, by using this service we are bound by the regulations of the owners.
