On the last workshop we had everyone setup to shoot what turned out to be a pretty boring sunrise. Once everyone had a handle on what they were doing, I turned around and just waited for a car.
that car itself is not putting off enough light to register on the sensor (film). If it was standing still it's likely you'd see the car itself but since it must have been low light and since the car was moving it might as well have been invisible. Since everything else was stationary, or giving off light, it was able to register on the sensor over the course of the 30 second exposure. Figure that the moving car was maybe at any given point of the image for probably a second or less. Not enough time to register.
