Before names and sky high prices began in 2005, we use to just let them grow like this. Aren't they beautiful?

PS, if anyone has large colonies to share, please post them here. I think xxtriggermanxx would be very happy and appreciative to see them.

I only have one large colony as of right now, but am working towards covering the one side of my tank in zoo's. Thats the plan anyhow.

Here is a picture of them.

Awesome, thank you for sharing that. If you can, next time, try to decrease the size of your pictures using your photo editor so we can enjoy the entire picture on the screen. Thanks again, much respect for letting them grow.

Oh man that top down tank is ridiculous I love that thing I thought I had alot of Zoas. I am working on Mini colonies basically frags of the more rare stuff so I cant buy colonies lol just a frag and watch it grow

Great links Mucho.
I'll try and get some pictures of the colonies I have up later, when the lights come on.

I have always enjoyed Geo's tank.

Mucho or anyone else,
Do you know if he has been around at all lately? I know life was crazy for him even when his tank was at its peak.

It would be nice to know the current status of it.

Mine was growing pretty good till the Snow Flakes broke out all over. And I use the leave it alone method for growth as well.

These aren't the largest colonies I've ever seen, but they are the biggest I have now.

Hey thank you and thanks for sharing those pictures.

Does anyone else have picture of large colonies? Please, no frags please, I want xxtriggermanxx to really enjoy this thread.

Mooch, I think you have uncovered the true "rare" aspect of keeping zoas here. I'm guessing grown-in, full tank colonies are becoming very 'LE' (pun intended)

mucho,

I have to say you got me hooked. I saw some pics of your reef a while back and realized how much I love zoas. It has been my goal to have large colonys ever since. Here is where I'm at after about a year of just letting them grow.

Cheer's Mucho to fighting the good fight!

Very nice I have the same problem with snowflakes in my tank. Have you figured out any effective ways of weeding them out?

Well xxtriggermanxx, again I tried. Two threads and several weeks of waiting and only a few pics of large colonies. Either no one is allowing them to grow because of sky high per polyp sales/profits, or many frags ( polyps ) are dying from excessive fragging, premature fragging or improper fragging/attachment.

Thanks to all of those reefers for just letting them grow and for posting pictures.
