What heaters do you use?

I am just about finished setting up my system and trying to decide what heaters to use. Looking for something my reef keeper elite could control. The system is about 900 gal. and most of it is in a cool basement (other than the 375 display which is on the first floor). Thanks

You'll get a lot of opinions about what brand of heaters to use. For the most part, its just personal preference.

I think the only thing people will agree to is the use of multiple smaller heaters (as opposed to a single large one) and the use of a good quality controller to keep things in check!!

Personally, I have had good luck with the finnex titanium heaters on a ranco controller.

I dont use a heater, havent needed one yet... My house doesnt get very cold in the winter.

will probably never come on, but always handy, just in case

Wow i dont use a heater. my tank stays around 79-80 and higer and the chiller kicks in. havent used a heater in 3 years.

All depends on the environment...My tank was in the basement in the northeast.....nice and cool, needed a little heat, mostly during the winter months.

I also have 1,000gls total system with sump in cool basement. I have 3 x 250w ebo jaegers and 1 x 500w finnex titanium. I did have two 500w titaniums but one never worked. I use ranco controllers. I was using AC3 but two temp probe failures & gave that up. One note is i use heaters way more than i expected, i think because of the pvc run from DT to sump goes through crawl space where temps are cooler. I'll insulate them this winter.
