What is a RED short tentacle plate coral worth ?

There is a beautiful blood red short tentacle plate coral for sale at a local shop. Its about 3 or so inches across and seems to be very healthy, good appetite and all.

So my question is, how much is such a coral worth ? I want it, but I really don't want to over pay by much for it.

If my LFS got one, it would be over $100. I would say $150, even at 3". :( That's purely speculation however, they rarely order anything that isn't green.. lol

Blood red plates are exceptionally rare. I have never seen one less than $300 if its a good red (not orange or purple).

Here's a purple one for $34.99. Red is not that far off, but I coundn't imagine paying hundreds for one.

Written descriptions often are colored by the eye of the writer. Photographs are often colored by photography skills, lighting, camera and/or Photoshop.

The liveaquaria picture is most definitely purple. But purple ranges from almost brown to vivid. Some of us would love this plate and others would not give it a second look

So responding to op: one of the previous comments is quite accurate that blood red is extremely rare. So I guess if it truly is blood red, then it will most likely be very expensive and very stunning. Bottom line, if it is stunning and you have never seen one this color, it may be an opportunity. The best determinant for setting value is experience with whatever you are looking at. Sharing a photo or description can be darn challenging coming up with an accurate value. At least you are able to see this in person and judge it's color most accurately. Many of us have experienced both delight as well as dissapointment when purchasing online. You are well positioned to decide.

Here's my ATL Hellraiser shortly after fragging:

That's nice, but definitely not what I was expecting though. It's just a drab red plate coral, nothing more. If you guys are paying hundreds of dollars for these, I think your getting suckered. JMO.
