What is growing in my sand?

These little things have been in my sand for around 2 months, at first I thought it was just detritus and when I tried to vacuum them I found they go deep into the sand bed! Part of them sticks out of the sand but 3/4 of them are in the sand it kind of looks like roots. Just wondering if anyone knows what they are?

Thanks!

Do you ever see anything coming out of those tubes? Two little antenna looking things? My guess would be spinoid worms.

I've never seen anything coming out of them before, I looked up spionid worms and they don't have those two antenna type things. They don't really look like they are some kind of tubes either.

I can't speak for the OP, but I'm positive nothing comes out. They look like vertical fish turds jammed into the sand.

Absolutely 100% beyond a shadow of a doubt sure there isn't anything coming out. I've spend hours with my face to the glass watching them.

Take a peak early in the morning when the lights are out.

They're under the top layer of the sand-bed, and I can only see them if I vacuum up some sand during a WC, but I will uncover some tonight to watch in the morning.

Have you tried grabbing a tube with a pair of tweezers and pulling it out of the sand and putting it in a small dish so you can inspect it and even cut it open?
