I have a very healthy and alert copperband butterfly with a growing "problem". He has three growths on his right pectoral fin. These growths appeared a little over a week ago, and at that time they appeared to be something like black ick. However, no additional spots appeared and the three have grown to about ten times their original size. All three are about the same size and and have grown at the same rate.
The growths are raised and a grey color. I have a picture below ... you can get the idea even though it's a bit blurry. Does anyone know what they might be or how to treat them?
The fish seems unaffected, but I am a bit concerned. Right now I have him in a hospital tank and am treating with Prazipro (third day of treatment). I did give him a freshwater bath before placing him in the hospital tank.
Thanks in advance ...
