What is it?

Hi all,

Last night after the lights were off in the tank I looked with a flash light and saw these very small(approx. 1/8"long by 1/32' wide) clear looking small fish. Hundreds of them kind of darting around. My camera cannot macro down that far to get a decent picture. The best way I can describe them is a long slender body that tapered to a round head. I don't think they were shrimp(I only have one), but looked more like small fish. Any ideas?

probably sand bed fauna of some sort. do you have any mated fish? if not id be almost certain their from the sandbed. what is youre substrate?

Funny you mention this... I just found the same thing and was wondering if they were bad or good. After reading this thread I looked up a few pics of mysis and I agree that they seem to be what is growing in my tank. I am glad to see that it is not a pest.

Here's a pic that looks pretty much like what I see in my fuge. Although they are very tiny and hard to make out any detail. They move quite fast and move head first without really bending like a fish they must be moving by using those little legs.

Hi Kevin,

Can you see legs on your critters? I can't see any on mine. The eyes seem to be at the end of the body not like the photo.
