What is my apple doing?

Every couple of weeks or so my apple constricts in the middle. Anyone know why?

Wow those are way cool. How long have you had it? What size tank is it in? Has it ever released its toxins when stressed and killed any fish? Do you target feed it or just dose the tank with Phyto?

Sorry I am no help on your question, but now I am very curious about this species.

190 DT, 60 sump, ~200 gal total. I have had him for several months with no issues. I dose phyto every day to every other day and he seems happy. He is really fun to watch cleaning his tentacles, dipping one at a time into his mouth to lick them off. (yes, I know it's his arse, not his mouth.. but it's more polite to say mouth). I keep a close eye on him and will take him out if he looks like he is turning south, but so far, so good.

I have had several and they do this from time to time. Not sure why, but as long as the tank is fine and you are feeding him I wouldn't worry.
I'm not sure about nuking a tank, I have had a couple that died over the years and nothing has happened. Not sure what has to happen for them to be toxic, maybe only in small tanks. Mine is a 180 + a 55sump.
