What is my sea hare doing?

It is making this purple stringy stuff out of his mouth. Does any body know what it is doing?

Those are egg strands.

will they grow to babies on their own?

I have no idea, I just know what sea hare eggs look like LOL. Probably depends on what kind of other critters you have in your tank, and might depend on tank conditions too. Hopefully someone with sea hare experience will respond, so I'm bumping it up for you!
