What is needed to breed...

Hello everyone,
I was thinking of breeding Clowns for the learning experience and fun. I have been reading a little on the forum and will continue to read more. I am only 16 though so i have lots of questions.
*Should I even attempt to breed Clowns or are there easier fish to breed

*Around how much will it cost?

*What equipment do I need?
I will have a list i edit when ever somone has a new item to add.

That is all i can think of atm but I am sure there will be more questions as i read more.
Thanks in advance

It does take A LOT of work, I don't know to much about it but I know you need a sponge filter, and you have to be harvesting your own zooplankton and rotifers. Of course you will also need another small tank for the babies, and then something to do with the ones that survive. Unless you plan on having a DT with like 50 percs in it. lol

I was thinking of housing the parents in my 14g BioCube and that would be the only fish in there. So like two 10g tanks? Ok, I will be that on my list.

It looks like i can only edit the main post after 60 min so I will have a list as i post and see how that works.

Does anyone know of a step-by-step book or thread that someone has on how to breed clowns? I am thinking of breed percs because they seem to be the eaiser type from what i have read.

Wow Rkelman! Very nice. I read the first 5 or 6 pages then skipped to the last one. It looks like you have expanded your breeding area quite a bit. I was thinking of having the pair of clowns in my 14g BC. Do you think they would do ok in there? Would you mind if sharing your eqiupment list for the first tanks you used for breeding?

ok thanks, just wanted to make sure the 14g was good because your thread was very helpfull. I am going to see if they have the book at my local book store soon.

If they don't have it at the store, I borrowed one from the library. Yours might have a copy also.
