What is all needed to run a wavebox, do you need the powerheads too or just the wavebox alone will run?

you don't need anything beside some way to mount it. I don't believe the mounting hardware will work with our American tanks.

looking at the pdf instructions on the web site it looks like the Tunze magnets might work.

also there are some parts that can help, I seem to recall Roger mentioning that some parts are avalible for US tanks when trying to use the comline rails.....

I wonder if the left and right mount can be one up high and one down low... then magents should work.

The wave box would work on your future 125g, I don't know how effective it would be on the 49g. The included brackets will mount to an AGA tank with the stock rim. The brackets would not work on a euro brace on the permitter, must use the magnets.

When using the wavebox you will still need flow. I would get 2 of the Tunze 6000 or 6100 first or other powerheads, then supplement the current with the Wavebox.

Ok, can anyone explain what makes tunze better than the new koralias?

I think the thread was started as a wavebox question. But as far as what your asking, I think the koralias are great and for 50.00 a pop I heard they will put out the flow. I should be getting mine today to go along with my wavebox in my 100gallon SPS. It
will be replacing a SEIO.

I just took a look and seems like they lack 2 things that Tunze has:

1) Tunze has been around for a long time and will stand behind thier gear (repair etc...)
( I do not know who the other guys are)

2) looks like a one speed pump, the Streams are designed to be adjustable and create wave and pulse action....

I am looking at Tunze streams as a way to make the water do more than just move fast....

in the sea tides move in and out, waves crash and so on...

a stock AC powerhead can't alter flow rate.

that is great news! i have been debating getting a wavebox all week and the extra $60-$100 for the mounting hardware almost made me not get it. Guess i will put my order in next week.

Anyone know the cheapest/best place to order from?

Prices are pretty much the same everywhere you go. Main concern would be availability since the Wavebox is a high demand item. Some online companies may give free delivery and not collect state sales tax.
