I am new to the salt water world. But there is a black mark on my clown fish by his back fin. Not sure what this might be. Can anyone help

A short video about a minute long, showing both sides of the fish will be helpful for our fish disease experts. Make sure you get both sides of the fish.

Hopefully, @leebca @Dr. Reef @HumbleFish will chime in shortly.

A video would be worthwhile. A video longer than one minute under white light up close to the fish, showing both sides of the fish would be helpful. You can upload the video to YouTube then post the link to it here.

A list of other living things in the aquarium would be useful along with: Where did the fish come from; how long have you had the fish; did it come with this mark on it; is the fish eating; eating what? Any background information would be helpful.

Black marks on a clownfish can sometimes be a sign of stress, healing from an injury, or a reaction to hosting certain corals. If your fish is still active and eating well, it’s usually nothing to worry about, but keeping water parameters stable is key. Just like how I make sure my dog stays healthy with Bravecto Without Vet Prescription for flea prevention, keeping fish in a clean and stable environment is essential for their well-being!
