I'd second your request for a source. I've spent an unfortunate amount of time under a scope watching these guys, and have seen them lick a hydroid clean of diatoms, including the polyp, but never actually feed on it, although that is probably where the association originated. Maybe somewhere out there is a species that feeds on hydroids, but it isn't the norm. I feed my tank with them about once a month, and they never last long, everything seems to eat them!
