What is the barrier for breeding wrasses?

I've read in a number of places that breeding wrasses is impossible, but I've never read why. Tough to get them to spawn? Fertilization issues? Hard to catch the fry? Tough to feed the fry? All of the above?

Just curious.

They need large tanks for their spawning runs, broadcast spawned eggs that present challenges to collect, planktonic eggs which are a bit of challenge to hatch out, challenges with the first foods....I wouldn't say impossible, but certainly a challenge.
