I am thinking What the best way to treat white spot for Reef tank is. Just for fish tank, we have a lot of methods for treatment, but for reef tank I do not have good treatment methods.
Do you have any idea of that?
Put all the fish in a hospital tank and treat with hypo. All the fish will soon be infected and you need to leave your tank fish free for 4-6 weeks for the parisite to die.
Uhmmm not that won't infect your tank. What is in your tank? If you don't have corals or inverts you can always lower the salinity in the main tank. But if you do have those than you are going to have to move them out to treat.YOu can't put cooper in the main tank as you can never have corals or inverts in there again. I know it is kinda a pain but you can use a rubbermaid for a hopital tank. Just transfer the water from the main tank add a power head. A heater if it cools down alot and a cheap filter and you are good to go. Then when ever you buy new fish you can put them in there fist for 4 weeks to make sure they are parisite free and then move them to the main display happy and healthy.
There are products that claim that they are reef safe but i have not heard alot of good things about them. And i myself would not try them in fear of losing all that money.
I have a lot of Corals (SPS) and fishes in the same 75Gal tank. It is a kind of difficult to catch the fishes. That's why I am looking for the treatment method without pulling out the fishes.
It sounds like no method for it...
Believe me i know it sucks i am in a 130 gallon and about 2 months ago had to tear it all down to get them out. A pain but i now hospital tank anything coming in...LIVE AND LEARN...lol
Only thing I have found that makes it easier (without removing all or large portions of rock) is to get a couple of plastic garbage cans and drain half the water into those. After the fish are caught just pump the water right back into the tank.
Only way to treat a reef tank for parasites is to leave it fishless for 4-6 weeks.
