what is the easiest SPS to keep.

i have a 90 gallon tank

for lightting i have 2 150 watt double ended 20k HQI bulbs

for flow i have 3 MJ1200 and a mag 12 return pump

and my skimmer is an ASM G-3

Digitatas are practically invincible but beware, I still have patches of what I will call not my favorite sps, in places that I wish there wasn't from the first brown frag of digi I got. In other words compared to more attractive corals digis to me got a little old. Of course at first I thought it was the greatest.

I would say that you are going to need more flow than what those powerheads can put out if you plan on keeping SPS.

I am running a 38 gallon with 3 MJ 1200's and there isn't enough flow. Going to have to either get more or figure out another way to get my water moving.

Some might even say your pushing your luck on the lighting too. I think 2X 250 watt halides would be ideal for that size tank.

I agree. Montipora digitata would probabley do well in your setup but you would need to upgrade or supplement lighting and flow before you try acro and such.

well for the flow the return pump puts out a lot of water flow

All the ones mentioned so far are great examples: Montipora digitata and some "capricornis" type specimens, Pocillopora, and Pavona species usually do very well.

some of the millis are easy to keep too, they also double as a flow guage inside the tank, if their fuzzy polyps arent a blowin', then you dont have enough flow.

I have to say Pocillopora in my case. I had a po4 Problem and they keep color and keep growing. IMO the easiest.

If you want to dive into any SPS and want hardy ones... Make sure you get some True Captive propagated pieces.

Alot of the Acropora yongeii are 7-8 yrs in captivity and are 100% as bulletproof as any digitatta.

Captive propagated is key .. and the longer the coral dates in captivity the better and more hardy
