What is the "eco-wheel"?

so, are these systems connected to one side of the aquarium?
also, how much can one expect to find one of these systems for?

Thanks.

the ecowheel system with the plumbing, filter, air pump and light was expensive around 3500, if I remember correctly. I have one but have not hooked it up because I had problems with the tank and stand that I had built. Its a neat concept, just hoping to resolve some issues with my stand so I can use the ecowheel system. There are several people on the forum that have used the system, you might do a search but I think alot of the pictures are gone on some of the threads.

i have seen this company's tanks in person in kansas city where I am originally from, the ecowheels owners dad owns a petstore and runs them, they are kind of cool, but they leave a lot of dead spots in the tanks from my experience, they have great luck w/sponges and gorgonians, but they also had bad algae outbreaks when I have been there. They claim that they skim because of the bubble and the turf scrubber but I don't personally believe that, the toxins would be reintroduced in a matter of seconds to the water column as it moves. I just like the surge effect that it presents.

If you run one you would definitely want to run powerheads in your tank. If anyone attempts or attempted a DIY I would be interested in checking out the link, it seems with the right modifications it could be far more effective
