What is the life span of mantis??

Have one in the tank that I am trying to get rid of. Have removed a couple of 1 inchers..This one is hard to get, numerous night time searches of him and never see him, tried the inverted coke bottle bait trap, fresh dipped all of my lr with no luck, just wishing that he will eventually die of age. How long do they live? I have had one as a pet in the past, but in the main tank they are such a pest! :mad2:

You will probably have to wait a few years...Neogonodactylus wennera lives in the vicinity of 5 or 6 years, if I recall, and the lifespan of other types isn't much shorter.

Maybe try this: If you know the rock and hole he is in, use a bicycle pump with a small nozzle (ball inflating tip or similar) and pump some air into the hole. Just do it over a pail of water so you can catch him.

IMO, it's easier to hold the rock with tongs in one hand, and just pour club soda into the LR with the other, above a pail of SW of course.
