What is the lowest salinity a BTA can live in?

Anemones are general considered to be full-strength sea water (~1.028-1.027) animals.
According to Ron Shimek, in Host Anemone Secrets, E. quadricolor can be found naturally in water down to 32ppt. That would be in the 1.024 range.

My tank went down from 1.014 and up to 1.030 over a few days before stabilizing back at 1.026. The anemones reacted by bleaching out to fluorescent colors. They lived probably because they were formally healthy thus, having reserve strength. After many weeks, they are still bleached and smaller than before though water conditions are back to normal.

Thx Mobert I have read your threads and hope to copy your anemone success in an aggressive fish only tank. P.S. I contacted your Cali LFS and they had a problem and lost a lot of your anemone line. Can you think of any aggressive fish to avoid with BTA's?

"P.S. I contacted your Cali LFS and they had a problem and lost a lot of your anemone line" I am not sure what you mean. I used to sell to a few lfs' here and they are always sold out very quickly. I believe the strain is common here in the bay area.

Fishes to avoid that I have found that are not safe for anemones was Moorish Idols, and a mature (though beautiful) Emerator Angel. The angel was well behaved as a juvenile but as it matured, it just started snacking.
