I have done fresh for 10 years, it took me 9 to get to where I would even buy a $20 fish. Though I soon found more expensive ones last longer.

Today, I spent almost double that on a Kole Yellow Eye Tang (looks great, pics when he is less stressed) and almost dropped nearly $200 on a Sargassum Trigger, luckily common sense prevailed as my tank is still pretty new.

So how much would/have you spent on a fish before?

it depends on where you are financially

if I was financially sound I'd have no problem spending over 500

right now I try to stick to under 50

No way I would ever spend that on a fish. A dog maybe, but a fish? Unless I could insure him LOL

I have a hard time parting with money for fish but did buy 4 Bartletts Anthias at one time...I won't do that again. lol

I'd go up to $200.00 without a blink. Over that I'd think about for a bit. I've paid over $100.00 for 2 diffrent pieces of LR in my tank so I can say I wouldn't do that for a fish. The only fish I want that is over a hundred is the Crosshatch Trigger fish.

goldflake angel 295.00

that was the most expensive

chevron tang 125.00 (went though 4 of them)

mystery wrasse 100.00

multi color angel 125.00 (went threw 4 of them)

I'm cheap the most was $65 for one I wanted and when my daughter saw it we had to have it.

I guess if my fish budget was hugh then it would be different.
