I just looked at Amphipod pics and don't see a resemblance
Its more snail/slug/nutibranch like flat to the rock except for the bumps in the middle
It cruises around very slowly and to my knowledge has never left the rock.

Yeah, it's a chiton. One of the Tonicella species.

Chiton. Basically a weird snail. He'll eat algae and cruise around being a cool little armored thing. You might have a few more, they're hard to spot.
