What is this Macroalgae and what eats it?

This stuff is driving me crazy in my frag tank. It grows super fast and intertwines into everything.

I think it's a type of Caulerpa (hopefully I will be corrected if wrong :))

I had a caulerpa outbreak in my tank and my Tang wouldn't touch it. Bought a Foxface and it ate it all in no time. But your frag tank might not be big enough for a Foxface.

But I have a foxface in a bigger system that loves hair algae. I can get him with my fish trap and move him for a little bit to see if he'll eat it.

So far in that tank, I have a Tomini Tang and just got a purple tang the other day. Neither one are touching it as well as Dr. Evil (starry blenny). I wonder if Emerald crabs may be so inclined to chow on it.

I used to have some of that in my fuge. Used it as a treat for my tangs. My naso eat most it. I think the trick is getting one fish to eat it and the rest will follow.

Caulerpa racemosa, one of the 9 banned species in California, runs rampant with any available nutrients. I think a Foxface or a Naso Tang might be your best bet.

If you need to dispose of it, check www.sccat.net

I heard of another cure - use a hand held butane torch to burn the live rock where the caulerpa is growing out of. They say it takes 1mm of caulerpa to be able to continue to grow so you just have to kill it back that far.

I had a yellow tang that ate so much so fast he got constipated and got hemerroids! You could see that it needed to come out, but it wouldn't. Alls I'll say is thank god for the cleaner shrimp. He took care of my tang after lights out.

I figure nobody will believe me so this post, I am armed with pics!!
Here are my tang roids, lol...

1+ on the yellow tang. My Yellow cleared every scrap so well I have never seen it try to start back even now that the tang is out of the tank.

ok is it me or is the picture a little fuzzy?

It is not you... I had to blow that tiny little 'roid up enough, that it was clearly (or not so clearly) visible, and in doing so, the pixels weren't enough to compensate. So, it's blurry. And of course I didn't save the full tang shot.

Actually, it was a little too clear for me.
