Hey Everyone:

We were looking through our tank tonight and foud this "thing" in a hole in a rock- have no idea what it is....Is it a plant. coral, critter- if you know please tell me. I do not know how to get the picture in this message so please click on the gallery icon and take a look-

Also I think the pair of clown fish i purchased at the meeting on Sunday have ick...any thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

The thing in the rock looks like it could be a soft coral of some sort. Maybe a nepthia or something similar.

My suggestion would be to get some Frozen Formula 2 at Aquatic Critters cause Fins don't seem to carry them most of the time. It worked for me many times to take care of ick issue.... I would feed it nothing but formula 2 several times per day to get it started. Make sure you defrost the stuffs first and mesh it up with your fingers then feed it to your fish. Depending on the amount of fish you have, you can cut the cube up to a smaller size like what I used to do, now I have enough fish to feed the whole cube....

If it is Ick and you don't have a QT use Garlic Guard (liquid) with
Food and just pour it in your tank a couple times a week or
daily, but follow directions on bottle. To use with food you soak
some frozen food in the liquid. This treatment worked for me,
but will take some time. maybe a week or two.

Here is a pic. This is in a hole in one of my rocks that is lying on the sand. Anyone have any other ideas what it could be? Not sure if I should pull up all my rock to get to it. If its a coral I will. One last bit of info. it seems to be moving around and changing shape at one point it had extended two "arms" towrds the hole, now it has pulled back so only a small part is at the opening.

Thanks

I don't think I'd worry too much about moving it, Hollie. He'll probably be just fine right where he is. :)

kinda looked like on of my kenya trees (a soft coral) when it drops its branches in small creavices like that

I was in aquatic critter today- i think it may be a kenya tree...no idea where it came from...nice surprise though- I am still battling the ich
