What is this Nem?????

No, that's it. The store owner told me it was a BTA....

Honestly, lfs personnel sometimes don't know a whole lot about anemones. I suppose it could be a BTA. However, the shape of the tentacles and the column color (though BTA's can be this color) would suggests ritteri. Is the anemone on top of a rock or does it have its foot in a cave or crevice in the rock? Ritteries like to be on top (see the pics of mine).

How is the foot attached in your tank? Is it perched on a rock or is the foot buried in a crevice?

I looked at the link and am pretty sure that's H. magnifica. More pics would help us identify it. I recall you said you bought it and have it with two BTA's. So can't you post a pic?

Uhh...what? I only posted this question on this nem ONCE. It's on the Atlantis Aquarium web site and I don't think they will send more pictures. It was a simple question. The other nem I asked about was from Liveaquaria and it was a LTA, and I was asking if it looked bleached. I know I didnt go into specifics that it was on a LFS website, but I was just asking a simple question to look at the picture and give an opinion.

You know, this is a GREAT avenue of knowledge, but it sure sucks having to put up with all the know-it-alls and sarcasm.......

Villious, someone posted that same pic a while back and asked what kind of anemone it is. Whoever it was, I posted that it looks like H. magnifica to me. They posted back that it is supposed to be a BTA and that they hope it's a BTA because it is in their tank between two BTA's. So, I understand why Phil assumed you were posting again. I thought the same thing. Somewhere in old postings in this forum, I assume the other thread is still there.

Sorry about that. The other person who posted that exact picture said that he bought it and had it in his tank. I just assumed that he didn't like the first set of answers that he had received, and was asking again. I knew the avatar was different, but people change their avatars all the time. My mistake.

FWIW: from that picture, I can't even make a guess that I would feel good about.
