What is this thing?

I cannot tell what this thing would be eating. I saw him climbing up the rear wall of this tank near the overflow. There are several coral in this tank ... any idea what kind of nudibranch or how I eliminate him? Do I need to eliminate him?

personally, I don't eliminate or get rid of anything until I identify it as being undesirable. Your slug might be one of hundreds (thousands?) of possible species. Many species look similar. The vast majority of nudis are undesirable in a reef aquarium as they eat coral (usually prey specific.) What corals do you have? Your slug resembles the polyps seen on Xenia or Clavularia. Do you have either of these corals?

I looked up the clavularia, and I do have this:
http://www.reeffactory.com/media/IMG/soft_corals/Clavularia.jpg

I had called it purple star polyps <grin>. So, it must be munching on those. I have another coral that looks stalky and has several small things on them. They appear to be tiny (<1cm) star shaped critters. Are those a different animal?

Sorry to sound dumb ... still new to the hobby after a year and have a lot to learn <smile>.

And, as for the nudi, if it is eating my purple star polyps (or, clavularia) then do I need to remove one or the other? The Clavularia is actually quite hardy and growing.

no such thing as a dumb question.
It sounds like your star shaped critters are Asterina spp. seastars.
The best advice I can give you is to watch nudis and Asterina stars very closely. If you suspect they're doing damage to desirable things you might want to remove them.
I would especially be wary of hitch-hiking nudis.
JMO but I would isolate any nudi you find until they're identified.

I have seen the white Asterina in my 75G tank refugium. The ones in this 34G are quite a bit thinner.

Also, how would I go about removing them?

The Nudi has slipped away somewhere and I cannot find him. (Have not moved anything). The image in my first post is darn near actual size. He was about 2-3 inches long and 3/4 inch wide.
