Its not out at night when the lights are off, just during the day when the lights are on.

not sure why this thread was moved. According to his question I believe he's talking about the white thing on the zoas, not what type of zoas they are.

anyways, it kind of looks like a bristleworm of some sort.

My bad. I thought it was an ID request.

If you are referring to the white tree looking thing, yeah, that is a sponge. I have those too, but I've never noticed them shrinking at night.

Are they bad for my polyps? I noticed a spongee looking growth between the polyps and have been giving it a small taste of Aiptasia X which seems to be killing it a bit.

I think this frag is covered with this between the polyps, do you think I should take the frag outa the tank?

like 650 said, just take some tweezers to it and manualy remove it from the zoas. it should come off very easy and if you get it all it shouldnt grow back. i had some in my small 24g AP and it never came back were i manualy removed it.

BTW, Strout i think we need to see some full tank shots! i still havent seen your whole tank  need to see were all of my frags are living now :)

but those do no harm though right, cuz i have some on my paly rock too

They can smother and sufficate polyps

I just got the tweezers out and finished doing a number on the frag. I am sure I didn't get all of the sponge off the frag but I got most of it. Also, as dalston said, I think the sponge has smothered alot of the polyps that were on the frag, but there are still alot of healthy polyps on the frag so I am sure they will come back strong.
