What is this?

This a piece of rock I got from DrBronx. Just wondering what this is? I didn't see anything like it when I was researching it. Looks great in person. Very bright. On a side note, my tank is up to temp and everything rolling. So I'm wondering if anyone has a small amount of live sand I could get to seed my tank with?

I believe it is yellow sponge... you dont want it to be out of the water

Jer- recall where you got that rock? Do you know where it was collected? Ever purchase Indonesian rock

I have that stuff too. I always thought it was a harmless yellow sponge as Adam already stated. It only really grows underneath the rock. It's not invasive at all.

agreed with yellow sponge. It will help keep your water clean as they are a filter feeder, and they don't take up space on the top of the rocks where you will want to place your corals
