This purple branching piece came on one of my zoa rock.
Anyone know what it is?

Looks like a gorgonian. That would be my guess. Or maybe some sort of tree sponge.

yea its pretty cool is it soft or hard... if its a gorgonian it would get like little flowers that open or its a sponge it is deff. cool though

Could also be some type of macro algae.

its really cool but its wrapping around the zoas..... do you think it will be survive if i cut it off and glue the base down to a plug?

i bought bobs custom made algae killer and in one day of use it has already started to work...
