What is this?

Hi!

Picked up 2 small clownfish at local store a few days ago and noticed one has a red little gash by his gil. Has anyone seen this before ? Could this be just a small injury?

Aside from the little hole he eats great and acts perfectly fine

Was it like that when you bought it at the store? When did you first notice it?

I noticed it within an hour or so of bringing it home so it had to have been like that. He eats great and all so not sure if it's a type of disease or just an injury ?

It looks like an injury but possibly one from the breeder. I would return it and get a different one. It's not worth the possible headaches you might have down the road with this fish. Too many other obstacles and issues will be there for you as it is. Don't need to add anything to them.
