What is this???

I recently added a little more live rock to my classroom tank. One of my students noticed what they thought was a rose bubble tip anemone. I agree with them but I am new to the hobby. If it is, is it ok? I feel like its mouth may be open. I feel like its really early in our tanks life to have an anemone (it finished cycling 2 weeks ago and we have 2 clownfish). I will post a picture. FYI we have a 75 gallon tank that will be a reef tank once we build it up to that state. All our water parameters (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite) are at 0, our temp is set to 79 and our salinity is 35ppt. Our lighting is 2 T8 fluorescents and LEDs. If it is unhealthy/unhappy what should I do? Supplement the tank with nutrients? Which ones?

I would keep an eye on it, as it could be a pest anemone like majano.
Here's a great library of info on hitchikers http://chucksaddiction.thefishestate.net/hitchhikers.html there is a section on anemone that may help. Might be a good activity with the kids to look up diff animals etc.

they reproduce super fast and can take over. The only difference between majanos and glass nems (aiptasia) are that the majanos look better while they take over your live rock.

it looks like you may be able to pull the rock it's on out of the tank. if you can do that then i would take it over to the sink and chip the little sucker off below it's base. kalk paste, vinegar injections and majano wands work but they can release plenula into the column like glass nems if you miss the first time and you can make it worse. If you slowly raise the rock out and get it above water before it's stressed it wont be able to spit out a bunch of spores. then you can just use a flat head screw driver and a hammer and chip the rock. I've done it and it worked for me. If that's something you dont want to try then I would get some dry kalkwasser and make a paste (toothpaste consistency) then shut off the circulation pumps and completely cover that sucker. Let sit for 15-30 minutes then turn the pumps back on. the little sucker should dissolve.
