This wont go away. It is on my unicorn tang. Even after it was treated with Maracyn (Maracyn was for blue face) it still wont go away....

He is acting fine though... but it doesn't look to nice.

Sorry for the darkness of the picture.. my flash didn't want to get turned off today for some reason.

Wow I must not have been paying attention.... the white fluffy stuff on him... You can see best what i'm talking about on the bottom by his fin.

Sorry for not telling you all what to look for in my first post.
 
I'll try and take a better picture and post it tomorrow. Look at the bottom fin there is a white circle... and on the top there is a long row of the white stuff
 
New picture.. Look at the two spots on top.. there is a long strand of them connected on the other side of him by his tail...

he is acting completely normal though

Just tell people to click on your gallery, since you only have three pictures in it, you don't need the link.

I don't know what that is. Have you tried to catch and dip your tang? I'd try a formalin or ParaGuard (SeaChem product) bath - follow instructions for a 40-60 minute immersion.

Have you tested your water? Tried a few partial water changes?
 
You had a space between the url of the picture and the last img tag. I fixed it for you ;)

Picture isn't good enough for a firm diagnosis, but it does appear bacterial in nature. The Maracyn is erythromycin which isn't particularly effective, so no surprise it didn't do anything. I'd suggest either Nitrofuran or Maracyn 2.

I'm sorry I cannot seem to get a good picture but it is almost a mix of fluffy and a wound... its almost fluffy on the edges and more wound like on the center...

The maracyn was actually for my new blue face angel who is doing very well now... the unicorn tang is just in the same tank.
 
I've found that a combination of neomycin and sulfa is a good general antibiotic. Kanamycin can be effective too. I keep seahorses, and they get some weird bacterial diseases, so seahorse keepers often have well stocked (fish) medicine cabinets.

Are all your fish in a 50 gallon tank? Even if they are small, the kind of crowding can cause stress that leads to disease, even if water quality is good. I'm not trying to lecture you, I know you are upgrading, but I suspect small tank size and a high density of active, territorial fish might be a big part of the problem.
 
It probably is... That is why I am upgrading

He seems ok.. I will watch it and if it doesn't get any better than I will treat him in a seperate qt tank
