these white strands are all over my live rock that is shaded. Does anyone know what this is? is it good or bad? if bad how do I get rid of it? also I am battling hair algae right now(all water parameters are perfect) could this have anything to do with it?

Are snail eggs a good thing? I didn't know they would breed in captivity.

only ones i have heard that will viably breed in captivity are cerith and stomella...but they will all lay eggs like that...as mentioned most get eaten by pods and fish and crabs...

What about the rock in the bottom picture? Most of the live rock has these white strands on it. Are these also eggs or some type of worm? They seem to have been there for a while.

The eggs will probably get eaten. Nothing to worry about

+1 Check melevs site ( I think thats where I saw em, dead on same thing, pretty cool but they be dinner..)

Those white lines in the first pic are not snail eggs. Snail eggs are solitary dots. Those are trails formed by probably some sort of tube worm.

they are fertilized egg clusters, given time and conditions they would hatch...

a marco shot would certainly show the individual eggs in the string...my cerith snails do this to he glass about once a month...

I really don't think they are eggs I could be wrong though.

It looks more of like a tube worm or something.

If you could get even more detailed pictures that would make it much easier to identify it
