For about a week its been acting all wierd, one day it was pulling in its tenticles then a hour later it was fully open. I did notice its mouth area was very big, Its eating and my clown fish is in it all the time but still. Some say its splitting for the 1st time others say its sick. Ill open the floor

Could be a day, could be two weeks. Anemones march to their own drum. I witnessed mine split once, what an agonizing process. It was painful to watch.

I wouldn't assume it's splitting. Something could be irritating it. Are the water parameters in check?

+1 to garygb

I am also concerned about the ID. The tentacles seem short, and there is some distinctive striping on the oral disc and tentacles. Could you post a pic of it looking normal and fully open? To my knowledge, the only types of anemones that split in captivity are E. Quadricolor, H. Magnifica, and (debatably) S. Haddoni. I am wondering if this is a type that splits, or something else.

I had my water completely tested yesterday, its all good nitrates were a tad high but nothing to worry about. Im gonna try to find a pic of it in full bloom. Its been acting like this for about a week, but it mores at night and such. Ill just keep a very close eye on it, espically since one of my mexican turbos knocked a small piece of rock onto it this morning....

it looks stressed to me and a little bleached i dont see much zooxanthia in it but that could just be the pick.how long has the tank been running doesnt look very mature no growth or coralline on the rocks.but again could be just pics.what kind of lighting is he under and how far away is he .what kind of clowns also.have you been feeding him or just the clowns?

Tank has been up for about 5 months. We added some dry rock to it about 1 month ago. half my rock is covered other half is not. I have a aquatic life g12 fixture and a tomato clown. Ive been feeding him about twice a week
