What is wrong with my clowns??

Just noticed this on my clowns today, I've had them for about 4 weeks, they have been acting very healthy. They have good appetites and my tank is on my desk so this just appeared..

Is it Ick? if so I thought Ick was white spots not dark ones like this...

They continue to act fine and no other fish are showing any symptoms at all, I actually noticed this while feeding them today...

Any help appreciated...

Do they host anything?

I've heard of "freckle-like" spots appearing on clowns that host in anemones. I guess it's normal.

Hypermelanism. Are you familiar with melanin, the skin pigment? Your clowns are producing lots of it. This is in response to being stung while getting up close and personal with an anemone or coral. Completely harmless....

My clowns have similar spotting, although on a smaller scale. They're "hosting" in a montipora capricornis, rather than the nice RBTA in the tank.:mad2:
