is it just stretching out? sometimes when they stretch out, the color seems paler. the picture that you had of it a week ago, was that when it was new to your tank? i'm thinking it could've lost color bc the lightings different from where you got it from

Can you provide some more info? how long have you had it? How often do you feed it? What kind of lighting is it under, tank parameters, etc...

Your lighting is low but i dont think it would bleach that quickly. What are your paramiters, and how many watts/how old are the bulbs. Have you been feeding it? I assume its your water quality that is making it bleach, i can see a lot of algae on the rocks, which leads me to believe you have high nitrates and phosphates/params out of wack.

7.8 ph or 8.0 the colors are very hard to differenciate (but i know its low)
80 degrees Fahrenheit

I recently added livesand to my tank- about 2 weeks ago. (my maroon was digging to the glass) When I did everything got very cloudy for about 2 days and then got better- didnt help that my female maroon is relentless about stirring it up- but I anyways after the coudyness went away I saw that that algae had developed, then i bought more "cleanup Crew"

Sounds like your tank is going through a mini cycle since the addition of teh live sand. Im not sure what your ammonia, nitrite or salinity is at, but try to get on top of everything and make it stable. Inconsistencies of temp salinity and ph can cause stress and bleaching. In the mean time try to give the nem some food. If you have selcon or concentrated iodine you can soak the food in that before feeding the nem. The addition of the clamp on light cant hurt and its a good idea, however you shouldn't place it directly over the nem. place it to the side of it so it gets indirect exposure, and slowly over a week move it over the nem if it isnt running away from it. You could do the screen method with the light if you dont like that method. Place the MH over the nem with a few layers of screen between the nem and light, take one screen away every 5 days or so.

my salinity is at 1.024, - I did notice that my tank was running a likttle cool ( 77 degrees F) so i heated it up to about to 80-81 yesterday. I just fed t a whole marine cuisine like that website suggested.

Yes, Tank is 30 gal, set up for bout 7 months, rbta been in there about 2 wks,

Ideal parameters would be: sg 1.026-1.027 (natural seawater sg), for a RBTA a temp.78-82F is fine, low nitrates and phosphates (undetectable if you can), regular water changes of at least 25%/month.
