hi, what is your favorite anemone? i don't know what mine is yet.. but if people have pictures of theirs? and why is it your favorite??

I personally love bubble tips. The come in so many beautiful color combinations, they are much more hardy and forgiving than most other anemones, the readily host pretty much any clown that has interest, they tend to stay in one location once they find a good spot, they are easy to propagate, their sting isn't too powerful, they tend to be relatively inexpensive, ect. I think they are the perfect anemone for a home aquarium.

I have a tie. I've kept magnificas for years, I love their size, colors, vast number of tentacles and attractiveness to clownfish. However, after having a crispa for just over a year, I think this species might be my favorite right now. Crispas, like mags, are often not good shippers. I tried a few rescues, unsuccessfully. But, once established, they seem relatively low maintenance, mine eats whatever it's given, is a good size, also has a nice mop of tentacles that my orange skunk loves. Though not as colorful, it has a subdued beauty.

With mags, they are hardy when established, but they will not tolerate less than very good water conditions without looking off. They have a reputation as being persnickety and I would say it's deserved.

I love a lot of anemones, each have a beauty of it's own. I love the charlenge of a Gigantea. Their looks are excpetional. A bright color color Gigantea beauty is second to none IMO.
Gigantea is hard to get, been the worst shipper of all host anemone, and hard to keep. They require the highest light of all hose anemone. IMO, they also required the highst flow of all the host anemone. Once establish, they seem to be hardy and not as finicky as Magnifica in term of water quality and stability.
Below are pictures of a few of my anemone at this time

Well said. They're my favorite as well.

For non-clownfish-hosting nems, I think maxi-minis are hard to beat: small, beautifully colored, easy to care for, and hardy. Plus there's just something neat about having a tiny carpet anemone in your tank.

Gigs and saddles. without question. There is nothing cooler than watching your clown fish poke his face through a fold in the carpet. Its like they are playing peek a boo with you. very cool.
