What is YOUR favorite clown?

I like the picasso clowns, A. Percula.

Like this one of mine:

Nice picasso!

Call me a traditionalist, but I prefer ordinary ocellaris clowns. I presently have a spawning trio in one of my giganteas and think it nice to be able to see all the stages of clowns happily in one anemone. I'm actually surprised they stay as a trio, since there is another (larger) gigantea only a few feet away. :)

IT! the clown. Oh clown fish. I have a gold stripe maroon and a true perc ( in 2 different tanks), but always wanted a picasso

MerkyWater, that is beautiful! I have never seen that species before.

Thanks! Been one of my favorites since I set eyes on them. Hard to come by Wild caught that is.

She is actually a wild caught female, her mate is actually one of Karen Brittian's CB juvis. She is one of the few that have had success breeding them.

I know this isnt a helpful answer but all clowns r beutiful i have pairs of just about every kind of occ except black and white but will b picking them up tommorow . Yay but i have to say its a tie between naked or tequilla sunrise occ and lightning maroon bolth very very good looking .

Many types of clowns are gorgeous.

I'd still have to vote for gold-striped maroon. I've had her over 15 years so far. She's a spunky critter who tolerates very few other fish. She's killed at least 11 green chromis alone and she use to bite the glass. She's mellowed a little in the past couple years. Though if I try to leave the room having forgotten to give her dinner, she will fin flick water at me across the room LOL.

She seems to tolerate yellow tangs and an occasional banghai cardinal. Recently a bi-color pseudo started to take pieces out of her fins (I'm guessing a la moray eel style) so the pseudochromis had to go. Dwarf angels tend to not put up with her crap either.

Feel free to suggest some tankmates that an over-territorial maroon clown will tolerate.

Cheers,
G.

Count me in as a fan of the Gold Striped Maroon as well (although in this area they go by the name Gold Banded Maroon). They are definitely spunky but gorgeous fish! I've had mine (named 'Finnius' by my wife who names everything) for about 18 months now and he's gotten to about two inches in length. He and his green BTA have been together for most of that time.

His current tank mates are a six line wrasse and a Talbot damsel. We also had a Rainford goby that we loved until one day Finnius grabbed him by the tail and dragged him in to the nem. That poor fish was dead almost instantly and got eaten! My wife and I were quite beside ourselves for over a week but eventually forgave Finnius. =)

Wyoming White paired with a midnight would be awesome. I wish I could find a fancy white to pair with one of my Misbar B/W clownfish.

I like the look of the clowns that don't have too much white on them. Here is a playful pic of my percula clown. Notice the grey stripe.
