I'd like to buy a gem tang if I can get one at a price.

I guess reasonable priced is in the eye of the beholder

I have paid $125 for an Imperator angel
and if I could afford it, I would love to buy a Clarion angel, but I am confused, what is a Koi-colored angel? Anyone have a sp. name?
fish I would never buy, um, how about a stone-fish, ... too risky for me!

1) Brazilian Moray eel $350
2) Gem Tang willing to pay $3000
3) Have not found a fish that is too expensive for me,but I have seen some undesireable ones

1) Flameback angel $80, used store credit...More than I paid for my Picasso Clowns.

2) Golden Dwarf Moray ($400-$500)

3) Don't know

DMK are you sure it's a great white, thought those couldn't be kept in captivity? I'm not saying you don't have one I was just under the assumption you couldn't keep alive in captivity. But anyway I have a hawk fish paid $40 for which is a lot for me. It was worth it, great fish.

most expensive fish i bought was my clown for 40.

Actually, the monteray bay aquarium had a great white shark for something like 3 or 4 months. They released it back into the wild though because it was eating everything in their tank, no surprise.

Paid $60 ea. for two Flame Angel and Lemon Peel Angel. (One died, bought the other)

After it also died, paid $6.00 ea for 4 Blue/Green Chromis.

FAVORITE FISH:
the 4 $6.00 fish.

My Purple tang I paid $100.00
I would like to buy a Black Tang (but my purple and yellow would not like it)
I would like to have a Gem tang, but would never pay that much for a fish!

1) What is your most expensive fish you have/bought?
Pair of Black and White Ocellaris - $80

2) What is the most expensive fish you would like to have?
Hawaiian Dragon Moray Eel - $1250. Japanese Pygmy Angel - $1200. There are others, but I don't have the time to look them up.

3) What is the most expensive fish you would not buy?
Gem Tang - $3500

1) pair flames, helfrich pair

2) earlei fairy wrasse

3) gem tang/conspic angel (any of those crazy over priced fish - lol)

im guessing since he is in Cali, he got the helfrich for 80$ because he knows someone who brings them in or friends with a LFS :)

OK, I guess confession is good for the soul. I haven't had the nerve to tell my wife this story yet, so this will be a start--

1) Most expensive fish I ever bought--
Whitley's boxfish--Foster & Smith had one in "Diver's Den" for $300-something. I said "that is ridiculous, what if it died". I checked on it though for about two weeks and they marked it down to $200-something and then it finally sold (not to me). A few months later they put on another male at $329. I said, "OK, if it sticks around and they mark it down to less than $200 I am game". I checked on it the next day and (surprise surprise) it was still $329 BUT, they had a female on for $186--that's under $200 right? And who could pass up a chance to buy a pair and acclimate them at the same time (sucker!). So, I bought the male and the female--Just under $600 when you include shipping. That was over two weeks ago and two days later they both came down with ich. After a week of treating them with garlic xtreme and raised temp I decided that wasn't working and set up a new 55 gallon hospital tank (display system is 110 g) and moved all of my fish so I could treat with coppersafe. The move stressed them I guess and the ich exploded! The next day they were just covered with dots, including the eyes, and just hovering over the bottom of the tank, not eating and breathing heavily. Talk about stressful! That was two days ago and I really expected them to die before morning. I am happy to report that they didn't, the ich has receded some, they are back to eating (yeah!) and breathing normally. Cross your fingers--I don't want to tell my wife what I paid before they are "healthy" and happy in the display tank.
2) Most expensive I would like--I think the boxfish are about my limit, but I constantly surprise myself . . .
3) Never buy--hmmm lots of fish I would never buy, but it isn't really the price. Some of the pricey angles though seem much drabber to me than my $19 coral beauty.

If the fish don't die and my wife doesn't kill me, I am really looking forward to watching them in my display!

Thanks for letting me get that off my chest!

~$70 for the Naso tang that currently resides in my freezer. Very disappointing.

Looking for a clown tang, probably in the $100-125 range
