What Jebao RW series would be good for a 40B?

I have googled and searched here in the forums, but I haven't been able to find a good answer. I am looking to buy a Jebao RW series for a 40 gallon breeder. Would a RW-8 be to much? If so should I go with a pair RW-4's? I would prefer having just one wavemaker in the tank if possible. Which is why I was thinking about going with the RW-8. If did get a RW-8 it would be the new PP-8.

RW4 and on the lowest setting probably, youll need just 1 unit,,I have two RW4 in my 24x48 frag tank and they are at half power and still pushing sand around..

Going by the the reviews/comments on Amazon, it's mix. Some say 2 RW4, and some prefer just one RW8.

A few weeks ago, you could buy 2 RW4's for $100. That's only $10-20 more than ONE RW8. I would go with 2 RW4's. That way I can use one as the main pump and the other to flush out any dead spots (from behind the rocks...etc.).

I had read through the amazon comments also and it's very mixed. From Jone's experience it sounds like I do need to go with the RW4's. The sale that had them $100 for two was that on amazon?

Yes, it was on amazon, $49.95 each.

Now it's more than $60 each. Maybe be the Chinese yuan just increased in value:rollface:

I have an RW-4 on my 60g cube. I like it OK, but it's not quite enough flow for what I'm wanting. I'm going to be adding another one.

I agree, 2 RW-4s and about 50% should do you justice. I have 1 in a 20 gallon long QT at 30% and it moves some water, of course it's nothing in there but PVC pipe.

I had a Jaebo RW-4 on my 29 gallon and it was more than enough. i had it turned WAY down and it was great flow. I'd try one, if you need more flow then add another.

I upgraded to a vortech and still have the Jaebo. If youre interested, shoot me a PM. Few months of use on my tank.

Thanks.

The RW-4 is more for a nano. I would go with a RW-8

i agree, i have an RW-4 in my 25g cube, 18"x18"x18", i have it on level 7...almost max.

Keep in mind these do become less efficient after time, it's like a break in period. I would run a single RW-8, it will be plenty in the beginning and after break in you can turn it to the level that is perfect.

I have an rw-4 in a 29 gallon and I bought an adjustable power adapter so I could turn it down on random mode. However, that one pump is not my only source of flow in the tank.

Link to the $49.95? I only see the $62 one

The price is changing. I guess it depends on the inventory.

While I was posting it was $49.55 from vendor CNZ Lighting. Later that evening it went up to $52. Now, it's $59.99.

I guess you have to be vigilant and keep checking the price.

Good luck

Are you going to have sand?

If you are set on having 1 pump I would definitely go with a RW 8.

I bought a rw8 for my 65 gallon SPS a few days ago to make sure I like them, just ordered another today.

There is major benefits of having 2 power heads. Keep in mind.

Also, which is pp-8? Can u show a link if possible.. Thx

I actually used two ,WP 25's .... and I think they're perfect in a 40 breeder

Have you tried the RW's yet, oh man they are so much nicer. I still have my original WP 10, it's in my sump now, it still works very well. My WP lost a lot of power over time so i upgraded to the RW, it is powerful but the controller is way better.

I own many of them and installed quite a few ,I just think they're too big for 40 breeder and I love the little 25
